Hi, I’m Fraiba! It’s so nice to meet you.
I am a Master’s-level Registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW), specializing in adolescent mental health and trauma therapy in Calgary and surrounding areas. With nine years of experience, I’ve helped teens and young adults navigate the challenges of anxiety, trauma, self-harm, emotional dysregulation, and life transitions.
Currently, I work in acute residential and community settings as a family therapist, providing support for teens, young adults, and parents. I am passionate about creating a safe, non-judgmental space where adolescents can explore their emotions, build resilience, and develop the tools they need to heal and grow.
Whether your teen is struggling with past trauma, overwhelming emotions, or difficulties in relationships, I provide evidence-based support tailored to their unique needs. I also work closely with parents to help them understand and support their child’s emotional well-being.
As a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with a Clinical Specialization in Infant, Child, and Adolescent Mental Health, I adhere to the Alberta College of Social Workers’ Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Ethical Practice (www.acsw.ab.ca).
Adolescence is a critical time for emotional development, and unprocessed trauma can impact a teen’s self-esteem, relationships, and ability to cope with stress. My goal is to help young people understand their experiences, process emotions in a healthy and constructive way, and build long-term coping strategies.
I use a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach, drawing from:
✔ Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) – A powerful, evidence-based approach for reducing trauma symptoms and distress.
✔ Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) – To help teens develop emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal skills.
✔ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – To challenge unhelpful thought patterns and build confidence.
✔ Psychodynamic Therapy – To explore how past experiences shape present emotions and behaviors.
I believe in meeting teens where they are, creating a space where they feel heard, validated, and empowered to heal. I also collaborate with parents when appropriate to help them support their teen’s mental health journey.
📅 If you or your teen are struggling with trauma, emotional distress, or life transitions, I’m here to help.

In our first session, we’ll explore what’s bringing you to therapy, discuss your goals, and identify the best approach to support your journey. This is a relaxed, non-judgmental space where you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with, knowing that you are heard and supported every step of the way.
Therapy is a deeply personal journey, and its duration varies based on individual needs, goals, and the challenges being addressed. Some clients experience relief and noticeable progress within a few sessions, while others may require longer-term support to achieve lasting transformation. During our work together, we will continuously assess your progress and adapt our approach to ensure you receive the right level of care for your healing and personal growth.
A counseling session typically lasts for approximately 60 minutes, although session length may vary depending on your specific needs and preferences.
All ART sessions will be approximately 90 minutes in length.
I do not offer direct billing at this time. However, I am able to provide invoices to submit to insurance companies.
Absolutely! I offer secure virtual therapy sessions, allowing you to access professional support in a way that best suits your lifestyle and needs. Virtual therapy provides a flexible and convenient option for those with busy schedules, mobility limitations, or a preference for the comfort of their own space. Regardless of the format, my commitment to providing a safe, supportive, and effective therapeutic experience remains the same.
Yes, confidentiality is a fundamental aspect of the therapeutic process, ensuring you feel safe and secure in sharing your thoughts and emotions. Everything discussed in our sessions remains strictly private, in accordance with professional ethical guidelines and legal standards. The only exceptions to this are situations where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or where required by law, such as cases involving child protection concerns. If any such situations arise, we will navigate them together with care and transparency.Add an answer to this item.
